BSA Year 2

 BSA Drawing Hi! I haven't done much work on comic in a while as I have prioritised other assignments right now. All I have right now is thumbnails, and panel layouts. I worked on some sketches of the first two pages. For the first page I am considering changing the third panel on the right side. I feel like the current image doesn't tell us anything about the character or story. I also think the panel layout on that page is messy and unbalanced, and the overlapping panel does not help it in anyway. 

 BSA 3D Hi! Today I hope to finish my model. All I need to do is attach the hair. Which is actually quite a mission. There was lots of clipping around the ears. I finally managed to get it connected up and added the ponytail. I then connected the neck and my model was completed. I'm pretty happy with the result. While the sweater is a little blocky, and the mouth and hair are a bit weird, I really like the style and proportions. I also really like the small details like the ponytail and plasters.

 BSA Audio Hi! Today we came in after class and finished all our recordings for the Red Dead Clip and Matrix clip. There are some minor sounds we still need but we can get those off freesound. I also started sorting through some of the sounds for Red Dead. I think we got some great sounds, and some great ADR, although I worry that some of it won't match lip-syncing. Some interesting sounds we got were a tin with a metal cord that made a booming sound when dropped, which we recorded for the bullet time scene, a typewriter sliding back for the gun racks going past, knobs being turned on an old recorder for a high pitched tech-like sound, and headphones and a music stand being adjusted for gun sounds.

 BSA Cross Disciplinary Hi! I started on the character design. I hope to refine the drawings better and then send them to Nev for critisim.  I then put together a quick moodboard to start work on colour palettes and art refrences.  I then started on the digital sketches, and I hope to refine them more before sending them to Jess to line. I then drew up a neater version of the character sketches to send to Nev.

 BSA Cross Disciplinary Hi! We have changed up the creative and activity groups. We now have groups of two that are in charge of the designing, building, and running of the activities. My activity is the rain projection (and help desk?), and I am working with Jessica. We need to send finance a list of what we will need to finance by the end of the week (Including decorations)  -animation (Time crunch) -Will it work (Project on wall) Sprinkler- scrapped, Inside ,  Decorate- streamers-  Pillows or beanbags.  Rain sounds.  site- projection indoors somewhere. Board as projector wall. (Tv?) Talk to site, Talk to Abby or Dvon with list, Decoration plan, Plan help desk   By Thursday have event plan and equipment!!!!! Plan animatic. 

 BSA Drawing Hi! Today we got feedback on our drawing proposals. Mine was mostly about how there was no action and was just a lot of 'talking heads' shots. It was also mentioned that there was a lot of blank space that needed to be filled. One thing was that the art style fit the story, which surprised me as I planned on changing the style since I didn't really like it. I then re-wrote most of the comic and sketched out some thumbs of the last 2/3 of the comic. I also plan to revamp the rest of the comic too to make it more visually interesting. I re-wrote the story to reveal that Mikayla is a vigilante through Chase seeing her fighting some people in costume. He then confronts her in class and the others find out. Mikayla then goes and starts another fight while mad and is overwhelmed. She thinks she is going to get hurt but she is suddenly saved by the others with their project helmets. I will also change the project at the start to be a set of prototype helmets designed ...

 BSA 3D Hi! Today my goal is to finish the head and start on the hair. For this I need to touchup the face a bit before I join the two halves. I also need to do the eyes before I merge the head. I then finished up the head and started blocking out the hair. It looks best from the front right now. Im not sure on the face as it seems kind of goldfish like right now so I may fix it up later. 

 BSA Audio Hi! Today we recorded some foley for our project. It was a lot of fun and I think we got some good sounds out of it. We still have a lot of foley we still need to record but its a good start. We also got a sneak peek at our next project, which is a clip from the matrix. 

 BSA Cross Disciplinary Hi! We shoul appraise team leaders and event coordinators in detail. Remind self of when to do appraisals. (every 2 weeks?) It was interesting to see the self appraisals. Most people put proficient for each category. I know I was similar but I felt like it was a fair judgment as I know I had flaws but I don't believe that it majorly affected the grade in anyway and I know that I tried my best. I feel like it was a bit harsh to say that people who marked themselves lower were 'honest'. I feel like the tutors have been a bit harsh on us considering we are still learning and figuring out what we are doing. I am not saying that the C- wasn't deserved, as I feel it was mostly deserved, but the feedback has been a bit grating rather than helpful. If anything this shows that the majority of the team felt like they were doing well, but the assignment still very nearly failed.  BSA Audio Hi! We went to the studio and messed around more with recording ADR, as well as checked out the other both to make sure we could record in either. I feel like we didn't get much audio recorded but it was cool to see the other booth. 

 BSA Cross Disciplinary Hi! (/ > w <)/ Documentation will be peer and self appraisal. We have a group document about how the event went. We do not have to hand anything in for the apraisalls as they will be collected by the tutors throughout. We can ask for feedback anonymously through HR. Categories for appraisal- Communicate (Clear, attitude, supportive), Inititave (problem solving, adaptibility, work ethic), Responsibility (contribution, reliability, participation.) 1pm thursday to 5pm Friday to fill out appraisal.  Document is a event debrief and can have videos and photos.  Is about what happened at the event vs what we planned.  We are not being marked on the event, but the document. You do not need to state who was responsible for what. Provide evidence of planning, following brief, and money spent. Relevant visual and written evidence. There is a list of things we need to say on the brief doc. We can also change the structure to suit the document. ...

 BSA 3D Hi! Today I want to smooth out any lumps, finish the face, and maybe start on the hair. I managed to connect the sweater and shorts, and fix some minor smoothing issues.  . . . Day 19, in the vault. Maya is keeping me going at this rate. I dont know how this rusted old computer still can run such a program. I'm not complaining, its something to do. I belive Anna, my wife, has already read every book in here twice already. I think we are all running out of things to do. I've tried to introduce her and Sarah to Maya, but, I don't think they like it very much. I'm sure they will find something to do themselves. As for the outside, the geiger meter is still ticking away. Its still not safe to go outside for long. I ventured out a couple days ago for food. Most of the town has been ravaged. Not much remains. Lucky for me, the last scavengers were pretty picky and left some tinned beans. Those should hopefully last us a little while. Next time, I may not be so lucky. ...

 BSA 3D Hi! I started by softening the face and fixing up the earring. I want to make the ear bigger without messing up the model, and maybe turn in back a little bit. I am also deciding if I want to seperate the collar of the sweater. We are maybe starting hair today so I need to finish the skull. I also may make the nose a bit more sculpted. I may also seperate the earring more so it doesn't look fused to the ear. I managed to fix the shoes. I then added plasters and eyebrows. 

 BSA Drawing Hi! We started with some warm up sketchs of skulls. I liked the first one, even if the proportions were off. I didn't like the second one as much as I struggled to get the proportions to look right.  We then drew a skull in pastel with lighting. At first I didn't like it as I thought it looked messy, but by the end I had come around to it, and I actually really like the finished product. We then sketched some fabrics. Breaking it into big shapes really helped, but I didn't have enough time to draw in all the folds. I also think I could have shaded a bit darker as it halped with deppth and my sketches are very light and difficult to see.  We then finished off by quickly sketching an outfit. I themed mine off a ghost based on the duvet over the manniguin, as well as the victorian style outfits ive seen on instagram with the long shorts, lacy socks, and mary jane shoes.  BSA Cross Disciplinary Hi! Today we handed in our assignments. I read through it before hand in and I think we covered pretty much everything, but because of that it was absurdly long. One thing we did not include was the logo mockups so they did not see the other ideas that weren't developed. I didn't contribute much to the proposal but I am proud of what I did. I feel like the logo came out nice, although I think the thick fingers look unbalanced with the smaller stars, and that some lines between the stars would have cleared it up a bit with the starry background, I still feel it was a nice logo, with meaning behind it. I also think my marketing research was good, but I believe it was used for event research in the pitch and there was a complaint that it was too marketing based, however I was not asked to change anything on it, even though I asked if it did need to be edited to be used for the event research.  BSA Cross Disciplinary Hi! Proposal feedback Today we got feedback on our proposal. The feedback was that our goals for the event was unclear, that we didn't clarify the narritive or the actual activities themself enough. We did not need to contain everything in our document in the pitch, and that our amount of research muddled our event. We focused too much on the research rather than the actual activities that we will be running. We had no lists of what also needs to be done, and no visuals or designs for the activities. Finance was too vague which was based on the fact that we didn't clarify the activities enough. Too many words, not enough visuals. The structure of the presentation didn't flow well.  I feel like this feedback was fair but I think it might have been a bit harsh as we don't really have any good examples of pitches. We have done a lot but we have also been told that most of those were incorrect and have had conflicting instructions from different clas...
