BSA VFX
Hi!
Proposal due today. Need to work on documentation. COVER AND APA REFRENCES
If you drag a file onto 'New comp' then youll make a new comp the same screen size. if you go into image layer, you can drag the anchor point with the move tool. Change solve method to typical in the camera tracker menu. Create camera to create a 3D camera that will mimic the footage movement. select and right click a point to create text, solids, or nulls on that point in the space. Create null on a point. Copy and paste the position onto the subject, and it will be fixed on that point. you may need to scale up.
Turn on title/ action safe- under the cross hairs box under the main camera view. Line up subject with center of crosshairs. creat a null object by creating it as a new layer. Then 'track motion' the footage. Move the trackpoint to a high contrast spot to track.
Documentation in powerpoint.

Do any editing you can in premiere. there are adjustment layers to edit non destructive. Find in the sticky note in bottom left of screen. Also colour matter is the solid layer. right click a duplicated layer and select replace with after effects composition. after effects will open and you save it seperatley. It will make the exact shot in AE and then you can add VFX. In premiere the linked comp will show up in pink. alt and drag to duplicate.

Filmed all our footage and recorded all our audio!

Green Screen keying.
import raws/ image sequence. import file- open folder- select first frame (not wav)- make sure camera raw sequence is turned on. will open camera raw tab. To trim footage drag in work area (top grey bar) and the right click and trim. or put playhead at end and press N. ctl click timer to change to frames from seconds.
Start by masking out excess screen (garbage matte). Make mask by selecting footage layer and using pen tool to click around. now search effects for 'keylight + Key Cleaner+ Advanced Spill Suppressor'. Drag onto your footage in timeline. Keep advanced spill suppressor off for the start. Keep the view as intermediate result. Use colourpicker to select the colour. turn view back to source to see original footage. Change to Screen Matte to see the alpha (Black is transparent and white is opaque). open a new tab of footage (double click timeline) and drag tab to side to see both at same time. change view at bottom of tab to lock refrence tab. select eyedropper- hold alt and let go to see different areas. In status view find the creen colour that shows the most contrast between the subject and background. More black on background is better. Next open screen matte tab on keylight tab. Turn up and down clip black and clip white. you want as much contrast as possible without crunching the edges. Use reduce edge radius to clean up edges and tick on the spill suppressor to look less green.

Going over exporting with transperancy etc. (Maybe timelapse editing? and vfx editing)
c is cut shortcut, v is selection, to reverse is in speed/ duration. Alt and drag to copy a whole selection onto a new track. use nest to make a ton of little clips into one big shot. double click a nest to see all shots in it in a new tab. Then you can 'replace with after effects composition' to open a After Effects file version of it. if footage is wrong fps then interpret footage- main. If footage isnt working you can right click and replace footage. use image sequences for effects in video, png, tga, or tiff for image, and EXR for 3D, for transparency. you can import a photoshop file that updates in After Effects. import as a file and select retain layer thing and then leave them editable. However you cannot add or lose layers without re importing, but anything else will update when you save the photoshop file. Alt click a transform textbox to open expressions. to add small movement write in the text box a movement (eg wiggle) and brackets with 2 numbers. first is speed and last is frequency. to blink make some opacity keyframes turning it on and off. we can then loop the animation. select and right click a keyframe. Then select toggle hold keyframe so that it does not fade between. open expressions. select the arrow. property loop out to create a cycle. when rotating dont forget about the anchour point.
For harmony, click the coloured flower to show the rendered view. However you cant play in this view. the arrow oon this icon shows a matte view which shows the view of what is visible and whats not, like the green screen matte view. in scene- scene settings you can change the quality for scaling. to export as an image sequence you can use the write node. yellow box is settings. image sequence on, name file, choose leading zerooes (maya likes 4). make sure it is colour + alpha so there is transparency. then close the menu and file- render write nodes. loop out and you can extend it further through the whole time line.
You can bring in a refrence frame into maya. you put your playhead onto the frame, composition- save frame as. then put it in source images. put file in scenes to import. then file- import- select file and unttick use namespaces. the two boxes on side is split screen. You can use bothe the camera and perspective at the same time. select and h to hide and un hide objects. use the little toaster looking icon to add an image for refrence. also use xray to see through things. now maya is not working so no export and also cant put vid in cause file is too big.
audio to find- attack with scorching ray, first celebrations (could replace with music). Audio to re-record, scorching ray fails, hear with elven ears, a hydra

Ruby's feedback- speed it up with some trimming, especially on the action, at 1:44 swap dice and grin shots, reaction shots to cut up monologue at 2:08, same at 42secs, maybe add animated shots or table shots during monologues, around 1:26 seth shots jump around a bit??, trim shot of seth being zapped at begining, add hmm sounds to india thinking, and think about title screen.
1:44 swapped
trimmed zap scene.
f9 is easy ease in position keyframes
hydra sounds- trim clips- and clean up finale
Get erin to check trims- final Hydra dead
Add music and hmming for India, maybe clapping at end too.
