BSA Audio
Hi!
I worked on finding a clip for my audio presentation outside of class. I originally wanted to do a clip from Arcane as I felt it had lots of great quiet moments. The first clip I thought of was the scene of Viktor running, however that scene is only 40 seconds and also has a shout. I then debated doing a scene of several of the characters walking through a city but it felt like there was too many things to keep track of and it would have been too difficult. I then looked at the movie The Third Man but most of the scenes were too long. I then looked into Blade Runner, Night of the living Dead, and The Cabinet of Dr Caligari but finally (temporarily) settled on the museum fight between Ares and John Wick from John Wick 2. I later changed to the painting scene from The Half of It after deciding that a fight scene would be quite difficult.
Whiplash short film.
The sound going from loud to quiet. Gets faster and shorter. Builds tension. Loud breathing. No score, only diegetic.
Whiplash Feature Film.
Louder chair crash. No more loud breathing. More reverb. Emphasis on slaps. Director has more booming echo. Quieter. More clapping. Recorded in a soundstage. Second one sounds more live because of it.
Pro Tools
Known as a DOA as you can do anything to do with audio in it.

Outside of class I started work on my Audio Proposal.
I originally wanted to do a fight scene from John Wick 2 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMjgwqFPprU) however I felt like a fight scene would have been difficult. I then remembered a scene from the movie The Half of It and decided to go through with it (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIX7xneupwo). This was one of my favorite scenes in the movie and I felt like it would be easier but still a fun challenge due to the montage fades. The audio from the original is mostly focused on the narration and voice overs so it was difficult to figure out what to write about it in my proposal.
This article had a great line about the audio but I decided not to include it in my presentation as it focused more on the voice overs.

I then updated it a bit, however I still hope to add some research to make sure I tick off historical context and technical research.
