 BSA Cross Disciplinary

Hi!

We started today by going over our timeline for the sememster. We then looked at the research we did last week. I know that my research was pretty weak so I definitley paid attention on how to improve. The main thing I needed to do was relate my information back to our assignment and add some more of my own thoughts. I definitley could have written more as well. Another thing was that our team could have communicated with eachother to work our information together. I will admit I was a bit lost as to what we were meant to be doing as I just wrote about what an event was as I couldnt find any information that related back to a light show as most of the books were quite old fashioned and were more about how to generally plan an event. I think the task could have been clarified a bit more but I also think I could have thought about it more and done more. I don't know how useful the infrmation was as I am still a bit in the dark about planning events and likely will be until we actually start working on an event. 

We then went over which roles people wanted and didnt want. I dont mind being put in different roles, but I didn't want to be put in event co-ordinator as I do not like the pressure of having to lead, and I did not want to be put in Finance as I am not good at maths and numbers so I do not want to be in charge of funding as I feel like it is a very high pressure job. I wouldn't mind any of the other roles but I felt like legal may be boring and difficult to understand, and site-coordiantor is also quite high pressure. I would be keen for design or marketing because I like the idea of themeing and designing merchandise and decoration. (I also would love to give screenprinting and making other merchandise like stickers a go.)

We then had to write down events that align with certain limits.

Cheap Event- Student Animation Premiere.

Expensive Event- Party, Craft Market

Short Amount of Time- Guided Tour, Art Class

Too Big a Scope- Music Festival, Feature Film Premiere, Carnival, Game Jam/ Short Film Festival, Corn Maze

The corn maze was a fun hypothetical to disscuass as it made us think about the time the event would take, the costs, etc. Also it was a very entertaining idea. 

We then disscussed some pages by Julia Silvers.
